International pop icons with Simbu
The word is out that the Podaa Podi team is looking out for International celebrities to do a cameo. The director of the film Vignesh Sivan says that the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Megan Fox and Shakira are being considered for the role.

The film’s climax which is likely to be shot in London needs International celebrities to judge a dance reality show and the director could think of none other than the best International entertainers to pose in the couch.

The movie has Silambarasan, Varalaxmi (Sarath Kumar’s daughter), Sobhana, Santhanam, Ganesh among others.


The Businessman in Suirya/Karthi's court?
Mahesh Babu’s The Businessman is all set for Pongal release and the distribution and remake rights have been bought by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green. The film is directed by Puri Jagannath and it has Kajal Agarwal playing the lead lady.

It may be noted that Studio Green is the production house owned by a close relative of actors Suriya and Karthi and with the remake rights in place we can see either of them casting in The Businessman remake.

Dhanush needs a holiday
Dhanush has been working round the clock and travelling all over the place as there is a huge demand for him post the colossal success of Kolaveri di. In addition to this, he is putting in a lot of time and effort to finish wife's directorial debut, 3 so that it may be released in the first week of February.

It is a good strategy as the film will be released while the Kolaveri di fever is still high and it will allow the makers to capitalize on its success. Dhanush will take a break after that and go on a well deserved holiday as he has been working too hard for too long. He is asking friends for suggestions for the perfect holiday.

Shankar wishes Lingusamy luck
With Vijay's Nanban and Madhavan and Arya's Vettai all set for release close on each other's heels, there is a lot of nerves and expectations in both camps. In a rare and extremely generous gesture, Shankar called up Lingusamy personally and wished him the very best for the success of Vettai.

Lingusamy was touched with this sweet gesture and said that he really appreciated what Shankar had done. He said it was very big of him and the whole thing speaks volumes about what a wonderful human being he is in addition to being a great director.

James Vasanthan’s music school
Music director and television host James Vasanthan has started the James Vasanthan Academy of Music in Chennai. The school, situated at No, 24, 2nd Main Road, Kasturba Nagar, Adyar, Chennai 20, was inaugurated by the doyen of music, Padma Bhushan Dr. Balamurali Krishna recently.

Speaking at this event, James Vasanthan said that he felt the need to start this music school to fine tune students in the art of music.
